Dougal MacArthur is an artist/photographer based between Paris and London.

With an interest in cataloging the evidence of presence, the subjects of Dougal's work vary from the 'natural world' to human made findings he has come across, often nodding to their anthropogenic repercussions. Founded in an admiration of the cave works of the upper- Paleolithic, Dougal is particularly interested in the quiet, delicate symbols of existence; the markings left behind.

Also informed by the work of Donna Haraway and other writers and thinkers, Dougal's work comes from a place of trying to explore and understand the world around him, both the 'natural world' and the 'manufactured world'.

This exploration manifests itself through photography with extension into sculpture and public knowledge-sharing workshops.
